In keeping with the corporate model the Mechanical Technology division of Bay Mechanical, Inc. has adopted the philosophy of teamwork and openness. In 1999 Bay Mechanical joined forces with Staefa Control System and offering of Siemens Building Technology. Siemens is a multi-billion dollar world leader in the controls industry. Staefa and Bay Mechanical form a strong relationship that prides itself on openness and growth. In 2000 Bay Mechanical won the top award for Staefa Controls sales due to a growth of 201% over the previous year. Together we are bringing a new level of facilities management to Hampton Roads.

Siemens TALON®

Whether it is BACnet, LonTalk, Modbus, Profibus, Rs-232, or Rs-485, we have it in the Siemens Talon System. Talon Network managers (powered by Niagara) come standard with BACnet and LonTalk, Rs-232, and Rs-485 communication ports, with the additional options of Modbus, Profibus. Being Open means having the capabilities to integrate all major forms of Open Protocol. When you limit communication, you limit interoperability. Since interoperability is the goal, why not be completely open?

Often Open Protocols are used as the means to lock out the competition under the guise of openness. The use of Specifications requiring one protocol over another often leaves the owner with few choices for best of breed, best Service provider and tends to result in higher costs. TALON® lets the owner include those who choose to be Open without locking themselves into a limited number of choices. No longer can Automatic temperature control manufacturers and contractors remain at the status quo, they must all learn to integrate interpolate and remain competitive.
